Vaccinations and allergy shots

Vaccinations at Healing Hub Medical Centre
Immunizations are a key part of preventing illness and supporting lifelong health for people of all ages. At Healing Hub Medical Centre, we’re proud to offer a full range of vaccines for both children and adults as part of our commitment to comprehensive, patient-focused care.

Pediatric Vaccination Services
Our childhood immunization program follows the official British Columbia (BC) Pediatric Immunization Schedule, ensuring your child receives protection against serious diseases right on time. These include vaccines for diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio, Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), hepatitis B, meningococcal disease, pneumococcal disease, rotavirus, measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox).

BC Pediatric Immunization Schedule:

  • 2 months: DTaP-IPV-Hib, Pneu-C-13, Rotarix, Men-C-C
  • 4 months: DTaP-IPV-Hib, Pneu-C-13, Rotarix
  • 6 months: DTaP-IPV-Hib, and first flu shot, with booster in 4 weeks
  • 12 months: MMR, Men-C-C, Pneu-C-13, Var
  • 18 months: DTaP-IPV-Hib
  • 4 years: Tdap-IPV, MMRV

Adult Immunization Services
For adults, we provide key vaccinations including the annual flu shot and tetanus boosters, as well as vaccines for travel, occupational requirements, or chronic health conditions. While we carry the flu vaccine in-clinic, other vaccines can be prescribed by your provider. If you have a vaccine from a pharmacy or another source, we are happy to administer it during your visit.

Our team follows Canadian adult immunization guidelines, which include:

  • Tetanus and diphtheria boosters every 10 years
  • Annual influenza vaccination
  • COVID-19 vaccines per BC public health recommendations
  • Shingles vaccine (Shingrix) for adults 50 and over
  • Pneumococcal vaccine (Pneu-P-23) for those 65+ or at-risk adults under 65

Allergy shots

We also do allergy/immunotherapy shots at our clinic. Allergy shots, or immunotherapy, are a long-term treatment option for allergies, helping your body become less sensitive to allergens. They involve gradually injecting small amounts of allergens under the skin, aiming to build up a tolerance over time. The treatment typically progresses through a buildup phase and a maintenance phase. These are prescribed by your allergist and then ongoing buildup and maintenance phase can be done at our clinic with convenient fit ins and easy scheduling, after being started on immunotherapy with your allergist.
